How Speed Matters to Google

Google is willing to do what they can to encourage a quicker surfing experience. This is not merely because of some overly simplified experience for the end user, rather the result of said experience.  And as a web user, I guess this is something the best idea where I am interested to experience to. As a proof, Google is looking to speed up the web by attaching something to Apache.

Today, Google is also introducing mod_pagespeed, a new module for Apache, the open-source Web server that runs most of the world's websites. This new module includes more than 15 on-the-fly optimizations that can reduce page load times by up to 50%.

And if this will be successful, it could be really good for us.  Just think of more websites with better load times and making the surfing experience more pleasant for everyone in general.

The end users and webmasters will really enjoy the added value of a faster web surfing experience of Google as for the long term benefit, this remains to be seen. Cool isn’t it?
