Are There Any Usability Standards for Blogging?

With the intensifying recognition of blogs and blogging in the World Wide Web, it can be enticing to pay no attention to the benefits of investing in blogs and blogging. Although enormous blogs go beyond the simple function of standards, it remains something that a professional concern should persevere upon.

Recently, I was invited for an interview with Gravity Switch Com concerning about opening the eyes of designers and developers to the potential of Mobile Design and Blogging. The topic was really interesting that I thought I could share something. One of the questions was “Are there any usability standards for blogging in your opinion?” Uh-oh, that was a question that I for myself at fault for I don’t follow any usability standard in my blogging endeavors. I just blog and share something to my readers. So because of that, I decide to embark upon why we need usability standards in blogging? Why?

Blogging for Small Business Growth and Profit

There are several good reasons why we need usability standards in blogging but because of some usability problems and limits, standards may not be applicable. Some weblogs are really just like personal daily diaries intended only to a group of individuals. Usability guidelines generally don't apply to such blogs, because the readers' prior knowledge and motivation are exceptionally greater than those of third-party readers. But when you want to get to new readers who aren't your limited group member, conversely this time, usability becomes imperative. 

Why we need Usability Standards in Blogging?

We need it because: It gives us defined blogging practices by having reliable direction. It ensures regularity by assuring content that is reachable and unswerving across all contemporary browsers. And lastly, having usability standards allows anyone to cross over your content conveniently. Besides, the main purpose of usability standards is to get your content to cross over to all human users.

What we need to do to obligate ourselves towards usability standards?

First off, make sure that the purpose of your blog is clear to your readers. Having a niche blog would somehow clear out the purpose.  Make your blog an accurate portrayal of something, in another words, you have to depict a topic in your blogging – consider your business, services and expertise. 

Second, state the purpose of your blog. Make sure that it is easy to appreciate and has this ease of use.

Third, ensure that readers can steer around your blog easily.  Let them crawl the pages of your blogs.  

And fourth, make your blog eye-catching, appealing! Assure that readers are responding positively to your niche.

Guaranteeing these standards is very essential, especially if we want our blog to make sense. We should extend practices that persuade discovery and insight, and promote creativity and freedom.
