Most probably you have heard a lot of updates from the Big Google nowadays - from the Panda update, Google +1, to Google Music streaming, Google Chromebook and Google Social Search.

You can read a lot of blog posts around the web on how Google quickly evolved with these trends to dominate the entire web. And perhaps you have read the varied reactions of the web savvy people to each publicized trend.

Are you really affected?

The Google Pinguin which exploded earlier this year to clean up the web to the extent of having only the quality, relevant and useful content in the search results. I have seen a lot of infographics for this update, one such was from SEOBook’s Google’s Colateral Damage and a good blog post from Kaisertheasage’s SEO continue to rise after Google Pinguin .

Oh ‘twas been a month since this update gone worldwide, what have you done to your website to enhance user experience? Are you really affected?

Are you ready to be powered up?

Google has revealed its strategy of using friends to power up search results with the +1 button, which is set to be rolled out officially in the coming weeks. The idea is somewhat similar with the Facebook like in search. And to take note, Bing on the otherhand, integrated Facebook again in the first ever Bing Social search. To Bing, decisions really matter and now our friends from Facebook can help us make better decisions through social search in Bing.

The approaches are similar in that both require friends hitting a button to influence the search rankings of content.

Is this available worldwide?

Music and movie rental services came to Android devices straight from Google's labs, the company announced at its I/O conference very recently. Customers will be able to stream movies from the Android Market and stream their own uploaded music from a service called "Music Beta." Users can also "pin" both types of media to their devices for offline utilization. Uh-oh, Is this available worldwide?

Nothing but the Web

Google has finally unveiled its plans for Chrome OS-powered laptops through Chromebooks.  As it goes nothing but the web, Chromebooks are built and optimized for the web, where we already spend most of our computing time.

There are 2 versions of Chromebooks detailed by Google through its partners Samsung and Acer. One, made by Samsung offers a 12.1″ (1280×800) 300 nit display and a mini-VGA port for an external monitor. The other one is made by Acer carries an 11.6″ HD widescreen CineCrystal LED-backlit LCD and an integrated HDMI port for an external monitor. Each of these systems includes pretty much the same hardware after that point. They both have dual-band wi-fi and optional 3G, 4-in-1 card readers, Intel Atom dual-core processors, full size keyboards and 2 USB 2.0 ports. The Samsung comes out ahead on promised battery life with 8.5 hours against the Acer’s 6.

Google Social Search
Google Search Goes Social

This is the most recent! Google announced that it is rolling out Social Search worldwide. This update came a few days after Bing revealed its social search with Facebook.

Google Social Search could help us hit upon pages that our friends have created, and it can also help us find links that our friends have shared on Twitter and other sites.  Social search results are only available when we log in to our Google Account. If we’re signed in, Google will make visible of those public content from our friends in the Google Chat buddy list, Google Contacts, Google Reader and Buzz, and the networks we’ve linked with our Google profile or Google Account. Same process goes to our public Twitter posts.

Conclusion

Are you really affected with Panda or Pinguin? If your answer is yes, then this going to be the best time to get back on track through Google’s goodness and updates. Your engagement to social networks is now on its way to help you in search results as well.
